Biography
An international career grounded in musical intelligence and partnership
Veronika Kopjova performs as soloist, chamber musician, festival artist, and contemporary music collaborator across a wide artistic spectrum.
Lithuanian-born pianist Veronika Kopjova enjoys an active musical life as both a soloist and chamber musician, regularly performing repertoire from Baroque to contemporary music, including numerous premieres throughout Europe, South Korea, China, and Chile.
She has appeared at venues such as the Amsterdam Concertgebouw, Musikverein Vienna, Konzerthaus Vienna, Bratislava Philharmonic, Graz Musikverein, NDR Hannover, Auditorio Ciudad de Leon, the National House of Vinohrady Prague, and the Lithuanian National Philharmonic halls. As a soloist, she has performed concertos with the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra, Christopher Chamber Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra Castilla y Leon, and the Nordwestdeutsche Philharmonie, among others.
Her performances have been broadcast on Dutch National Radio, NDR Kultur in Germany, O1 Austria, and National Radio of Lithuania. Since 2019, Veronika has been a member of the contemporary music ensemble Platypus and has worked with composers such as Georg Friedrich Haas, Thomas Wally, and Christian Utz, as well as conductor Lars Mlekusch.
A prize-winner of numerous international solo competitions in Germany, France, Spain, and Lithuania, she has received scholarships from the Yamaha Foundation, the Lithuanian Ministry of Culture, Live Music Now Hannover, and the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna.
As a soloist and chamber musician, Veronika Kopjova performs at festivals including Grafenegg, Lockenhaus, Allegro Vivo, Klassik in Spandau, Choriner Musiksommer, Bebersee Festival, Christopher Summer Festival, PODIUM Festival Modling, PODIUM Festival Fazana/Brijuni, International Chamber Arts Festival ENSEMBLE, and FORTEpiano - Torun 775.
She has taken part in solo and chamber music masterclasses with Elisabeth Leonskaja, Steven Isserlis, Hatto Beyerle, Jacques Rouvier, Andrea Bonatta, Liana Isakadze, and Jean-Guihen Queyras, among others.
Veronika graduated from the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre in Vilnius with master's degrees in Piano Performance and Pedagogy. After graduating from the University of Music, Drama and Media Hannover, she specialised in piano chamber music at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna with Prof. Avedis Kouyoumdjian, Johannes Meissl, Zbignevas Ibelhauptas, and Muza Rubackyte.
She is currently Senior Lecturer at the Joseph Haydn Institute for Chamber Music and New Music of the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna.
